Lari Spire brings a unique perspective to artificial intelligence through five decades of experience navigating technological evolution. As a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) and Certified Public Manager (CPM), his career journey mirrors the transformation of technology itself—from using slide rules and precision theodolites for star shots to implementing GPS systems and now advocating for ethical AI integration.
Long before GPS became commonplace, Lari found his true North Star using 1-second precision instruments, establishing correct bearings that would parallel his future career in guiding technological advancement. His expertise extends from traditional land surveying to cutting-edge Geographic Information Systems, where he created and led the GIS division at the City of Avondale, developing comprehensive mapping systems, managing US census data collection, and advising all levels of local government management in implementing geo-spatial analysis systems for real-time applications.
As founder and CEO of GIS Consultants of Arizona, where he served as a Value Added Reseller for ESRI and EOSAT premier GIS tools and satellite data, Lari consistently pushed the boundaries of technological application across private and public sectors. His work included developing planimetric and topographic mapping solutions and creating innovative systems that served communities for decades.
Today, as founder of the Thrive Beyond AI Initiative, Lari channels this diverse experience into helping individuals and communities navigate AI’s transformative impact. His book, “Eagles Fly ABOVE AI,” has earned recognition from several leading review agencies.
